Abstract

              Puppet known already in the year 1500 BC, still survive and progress. At the time, the puppets used as religious symbols by combining the arts, language, literature, and story whit full of philosophy. Durability puppet outstanding against various changes of government, political, social, cultural and belief, proving that the puppet has a function and important role in social life .Up to now, the function and role of puppet no longer focused on rituals and religious, but has shifted to entertainment events that prioritizes core of the story with a wide range of knowledge, philosophy of life, cultural values, the various elements of art, as well as educational elements that all combined in the art of puppet or pendalangan. The philosophy of the story made public as the audience reflect on the essence of life, the origin and destination life, and the position of man in the universe. All of which illustrate the complexity of human life in this world with all its aspects and dynamics, which can not be separated from the role and position of man as God's creatures and as social beings. As a cultured man, a nation of Indonesia considers puppets as part of the life of high value and sublime. Puppet performances can be played by using skin puppets or human, means that it is sustainable to existence as a civilization abstraction of human life. The performances of puppet art as religious heritage which has a dynamic growth capable of providing power for a nation's civilization.

Author’s Biography

Muhammat Sabar Prihatin was born on December 31^st 1992. I was a student of international class program at State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga with the major department of Islamic Education (PAI) . I was also a member of BIDIKMISI student in my campus. In this my fourth semester, I had joined many of youth events such as national conference, dialogue, and talk. My activities beside as the student, I also active in volunteerism by caring and involving in art and social cultures, education, and also environment issues. It is why I joined Indonesia International Work Camp as my volunteer organization. I also won many competitions till luckily I was chosen as the student ambassador in my campus at 2014 till now. The most interests me in my life am being an influencing person with a good attitude, knowledgeable and cultured globally.
